to confirm that it was indeed "KITT", i took a picture of the interior (but not a very good shot using my mobile phone) and verified that the steering wheel was the same as the one in Knight Rider (the 1980s series, that is). a keen eye will notice the red emblem on the steering wheel somewhere in the middle of this picture:
however, the licence plate was not "KITT". so this was definitely a cheap copy! darn!
