Paying tribute to Mr. Lee Kuan Yew at the Parliament House #RememberingLeeKuanYew‬

My wife and I visited the Parliament House to pay our respects to Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. We spent about an hour in the queue until we came to this sign:

After bowing to the casket in the Parliament House, we came across this tribute on the way to our car:

From this morning onwards, the queue will be different from before:

Tribute to one of the great leaders in the world #RememberingLeeKuanYew‬

Singapore's first prime minister had passed away this morning at 3:18am.  It was a shock to everyone here in Singapore, and now, the nation will mourn for its loss for 7 days.

Even though I am not a Singaporean, I grew up in Singapore during my childhood and now adulthood for more than half of my life.  If you know me in person, you will know that I am a Singaporean at heart.

I am grateful for everything that Singapore has done for my family and I.  The Singapore you see today is a result of all the hardship and dedication of one man and his group of comrades in building a country from 3rd world to 1st world status.

And that man is Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.  Let us not grieve for the loss of this great man, but let us celebrate his life and what he had given us: a safe and prosperous country we can all call home.

Let us remember him...

Death of Michael Jackson: A Blog Entry Tribute

i became a real Michael Jackson fan in 1992, when i first bought his Dangerous album. one year later, my friend urged me to go and attend his Dangerous World Tour Concert in Singapore, which happened to be on his 35th birthday, on 29 august 1993! what a coincidence!

everyone at the concert celebrated his birthday and had a fabulous time! although we had the cheapest seats (S$65.00 at that time wasn't cheap to me!), we still enjoyed ourselves!

the interesting thing to note is that Michael Jackson first recorded his Dangerous album on 25 June 1990, exactly 19 years before his death!

i guess you can say that this blog entry is a tribute to the Greatest Pop Star Ever Known On Earth, The King Of Pop, The One And Only, Michael Jackson.

you have finally found peace, Michael...
